  1. Taj Mahal (Agra, India) -Taj Mahal is known as a symbol of love. Taj Mahal was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Construction of Taj Mahal took 22 years & was completed in 1653.
  2. Chichen Itza (Mexico) - Chichén Itzá is a large Mayan city famous for a large, pyramid temple built by the Maya civilization. El Castillo is the largest pyramid at Chichen Itza and dedicated to Kukulkan, the Plumed Serpent.
  3. Christ The Redeemer (Rio de Janerio, Brazil) - Christ the Redeemer is a statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil that was built as a symbol of Brazilian Christianity. It is the largest art deco statue in the world. It is 98 feet tall and the arms stretch to 92 feet wide. The statue is considered an icon of Rio de Janeiro and Brazil.
  4. Colosseum (Rome, Italy) - The Colosseum, originally known as the Flavian Amphitheatre, is a large amphitheatre in the city of Rome. The construction of the Colosseum started around 70—72 AD and was finished in 80 AD. It had seating for 50,000 people.
  5. The Great Wall of China (China) - The Great Wall of China is an ancient wall in China. The wall is made of cement, rocks and powered dirt. It was built to protect the north of the empire of China from enemy attacks. It is the longest structure humans have ever built. It is about 21,196 kilometres long, 9.1 metres (30 feet) wide and 15 metres (50 feet) high.
  6. Machu Picchu (Peru) - Machu Picchu is an Inca site in Peru that is thought to have been built as an estate for Pachacuti, an Incan emperor. It was built in the 15th century, approximately around 1450. Machu Picchu was built with polished dry stone walls. It is 7,970 feet above sea level.
  7. Petra (Jordan) - Petra is the most popular attractions in Jordan for tourists and also one of the world's most famous historical archaeological sites. Petra was classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985. There are approximately 800 structures in Petra. The most famous is Pharoah's Treasure, a mausoleum. Only 15% of Petra has been explored by archaeologists. The rest remains to be discovered.
