Spectrum Chart - 395 : Fruits 5

  1. Gooseberry - Gooseberries are small, round to oval shaped berries. Fresh, succulent, sweet gooseberries can be eaten all alone as fruits/salads. They are used in agro-food industry to prepare jam, jellies, juice, sauce, chutney, pickles etc.
  2. Apple - Apples are generally red in colour. Apples are low in calories. They contain no saturated fats or cholesterol. Apple fruit contains good quantities of vitamin-C, B-complex vitamins & also carry a small amount of minerals like potassium, phosphorus and calcium.
  3. Grape Fruit - Grapefruit is oblate in shape, it has thick, tough skin. Inside, the fruit is segmented into arils as in other citrus fruits. Its arils are very juicy, acidic and varying in colour, which could be white, pink or red due to varying sweetness.
  4. Currants – Currants are the part of gooseberry family. They are summer fruit. Currants are often used in the preparation jam, juice & various desert items.
  5. Pitaya/Dragon Fruit - Pitaya commonly known as the dragon fruit, is a fruit from Central America, South America and Asia. Dragon fruits have pink skin and white or red flesh with an abundance of small black edible seeds. The flavor is mildly sweet.
  6. Dates - Dates are sweet, delicious fruits from the tropical oasis. The date fruit has a fleshy, external coating, which when removed displays a single, stone-like, hard seed. It is considered to be a natural remedy for many health issues.
  7. Grapes - Grapes are the fruit of a woody grape vine. Grapes can be eaten raw or used for making wine, juice and jelly/jam.Grapes come in different colours red, purple, white and green are some examples.
  8. Kumquat - Delicious, sweet & tangy, kumquat fruit is a winter/spring seasonal citrus fruits. Kumquat are used in the preparation of sauce, fruit-concentrates, jams, jellies, juice, cakes, pie, ice cream etc.
  9. Cherry - Cherries are usually red, with a seed in the middle. It tastes slightly sour and is often used to flavour cakes and ice cream. It is an excellent source of iron, calcium, flavonoids, antioxidants, potassium, Vitamin A, C, E, manganese and many more.
  10. Orange - Orange fruit belongs to citrus family. Orange fruit contains an impressive list of essential nutrients, vitamins, minerals for normal growth and development and overall well-being. Oranges, like other citrus fruits, are an excellent source of vitamin C.
  11. Lime - Lime fruits are small, green citrus fruits of round/oval shape, which turn yellow on ripening. It is a versatile fruit with a sweet and sour taste. This fruit is widely consumed in the form of drinks, jams, pickles, candies, snacks etc.
  12. Black Currant – Blackcurrant is a small, bitter-tasting fruit popular as summer season berries. Black currants are often consumed as a fresh or dried as snacks. Black currants are being used in the preparation of muffins, pie fillings and ice creams.
  13. Rose Apple/Water Apple - Rose Apple or Water Apple is a bell-shaped fruit, about 5 to 8 cm long. The fruit is pink to red in colour with white texture flesh. The fruit possess rich amount of iron, calcium, fibre, Vitamin C, protein and Vitamin A.
  14. Carambole - Carambole also known as star fruit are tropical fruits. The skin is thin, smooth and waxy and turns a light to dark yellow when ripe. The flesh is light yellow to yellow in colour. Carambole is rich in antioxidants, potassium & vitamin C & low in sugar, sodium & acid.
  15. Pear - Pear are sweet, delicious and rich flavoured fruit. Pear fruit is one of the very low calorie fruits. They contain good quantities of vitamin C.
  16. Toddy Palm – Toddy palm has a sweet jelly seed sockets. They are translucent pale-white in colour similar to that of the lychee but with a milder flavour and no pit.
