1. Cow - Cow is large ungulate that belongs to the family Bovidae. Researchers believe that domestication of cows started 10,500 years ago. There are around 1 billion cows in the world today. They are kept on the farms as a source of milk, meat and leather. Cow has large head with big eyes and flexible ears that can move in all directions. It has massive body, cloven hooves and long tail. Most cows have horns that can be shorter or longer, depending on the variety. Cow is a herbivore. Clover and grass are its favorite type of food. Cow is social creature that lives in large herds. Cow is sacred animal in India. Cow can survive more than 20 years, but it usually lives much shorter.

2. Buffalo - Buffalo or domestic Asian water buffalo is a large bovid originating in South Asia, Southeast Asia and China. They are especially suitable for tilling rice fields and their milk is richer in fat and protein than that of dairy cattle. Buffalo milk is processed into a large variety of dairy products. The bones and horns are often made into jewellery, especially earrings. Horns are used for the embouchure of musical instruments, such as ney and kaval. The skin of buffalo is black, but some specimens may have dark, slate-coloured skin.

3. Horse - Horse is large ungulate that belongs to the family of horses. Wild horse has been domesticated 5.000 years ago in central Asia. There are more than 300 different breeds and 60 million horses in the world today. Horse is very intelligent animal with excellent memory. It uses its ears, eyes and nostrils to express its mood. Horse is a herbivore. Its diet is based mostly on alfalfa and various grains. An average galloping speed of horse is 25 to 30 miles per hour. Horse has an average lifespan of 25 years.

4. Goat - Goat is a type of ruminant that belongs to the family Bovidae. Goats are used as a source of meat, milk and skin for at least 9000 years. There are 300 different breeds and 924 million goats in total, that can be found all over the world. Goat has triangular eyes with prominent, horizontal pupils. Both males and females have beard, stout body, narrow horns, cloven hooves and short, upright tail. Goat is an agile climber. It can also travel across the steep terrains and jump up to 5 feet in the air. Goat is social animal that likes to spend time with other goats. Goats communicate with each other via bleating. Goat has an average lifespan of 15 to 18 years.

5. Sheep - Sheep is domesticated type of Asiatic mouflon that belongs to the family Bovidae. Domestication took place 10.000 years ago in Central Asia. There are 900 different breeds of sheep today and one billion sheep worldwide. Sheep represent important source of meat, milk, fat and fleece. Sheep is covered with wool that can be fine (soft), of medium quality or coarse. Wool can be short or long, milky white, brown or black-colored. Most species of sheep have spiral horns. Sheep is a grazer. Its diet is based on different types of grass. Sheep consumes 2 to 4.5 pounds of food per day. Sheep has an average lifespan 6 to 12 years.

6. Rabbit - Rabbits are small mammals that belong to group of animals called Lagomorphs. They can be found on all continents except Antarctica. Rabbits prefer edges of the forests, but they also inhabit deserts, marshes and grasslands. Rabbits are numerous both in the wild and as pets. Rabbits are vegetarians; they eat leafy plants and bark. Rabbits have excellent senses, but they are nearsighted. Rabbits dig holes in the ground (burrows) using their powerful hind legs. Rabbits live up to 1 year in the wild and up to 10 years in captivity.

7. Cock - Cock, is a male gallinaceous bird, usually a male chicken. They are domestic birds that cannot fly. Cock can be kept as pets, for breeding, egg laying and a food product. There are many different breeds that come in a variety of colours. They are omnivores and will feed on small seeds, herbs and leaves, grubs, insects and even small mammals like mice, if they can catch them. The life span of a cock varies between 5 – 7 years.

8. Camel - Camels are unique-looking creatures that are easily recognized because of their humps. They live in the desert areas of Africa and Asia. There are 2 types of camel: Dromedary, which has one hump, and Bactrian, which has two humps. They are specially adapted to the life in desert. Their eyes have three eyelids and two rows of eyelashes that prevent sand to enter their eyes. Camel can survive without food and water long period of time. Camel can lose of 20-25% water without becoming dehydrated. When they find water, they will drink as much as possible. They can drink up to 40 gallons of water at once. Camel's milk is rich in iron, vitamins and minerals and it is healthier than cow's milk because it contains less fat. Camels live 40-50 years.

9. Cat - Cats are carnivorous mammals, of the family Felidae. Cats have been domesticated for nearly 10,000 years. They are currently the most popular pets in the world. Cats have a strong flexible body, quick reflexes, sharp retractable claws, and teeth adapted to killing small prey. Cats have excellent night vision and can see at only one-sixth the light level required for human vision. Cats also have excellent hearing and a powerful sense of smell. Cats spend a large amount of time licking their coats to keep them clean. On average cats live for around 12 to 15 years.

10. Dog - Dogs are domesticated mammals. They have been bred by humans for a long time and were the first animals ever to be domesticated. Some dogs are used as pets, others are used to help humans do their work. They are a popular pet because they are usually playful, friendly, loyal and listen to humans. Dogs are referred to as "man's best friend" because they are kept as domestic pets and are usually loyal and like being around humans. Dogs eat both meat and vegetables. Dogs often have jobs, including as police dogs, army dogs, hunting dogs, herding dogs, rescue dogs etc.

11. Donkey - Donkey is the smallest member of the horse family. Donkey is used as a working animal in the poor countries. Besides on the farms, donkeys can be also found in the wild in Mexico and southern parts of the USA. Donkey can have short or long, shaggy coat that can be black, gray, white or brown coloured. Donkey has big head with large ears, short, stiff mane on the neck, small feet with sharp hooves and cow-like tail. Donkey is a herbivore. Its diet is based on grass and grains. Donkey can survive 40 to 50 years, but it usually lives much shorter (12 to 15 years due to extreme exploitation).

12. Duck - Duck is a number of species in the Anatidae family of birds. They are related to swans and geese. Ducks are mostly aquatic birds living in both fresh water and sea water and found on every continent except for Antarctica. A male duck is called a drake, a female duck a hen, and a baby duck a duckling. Domestic ducks raised for meat, eggs and down. Many ducks are also kept for show, as pets, or for their ornamental value. Ducks are omnivores. They feed on aquatic plants, small fish, insects, worms, grubs and more.

13. Goose - Goose is domesticated type of waterfowl. There are dozens of types of domestic geese today. Goose has orange bill, long neck, short legs and wide rear end. Goose cannot fly, but it can lift the body few feet above the ground when startled. Goose likes to swim and spend plenty of time in the water. Goose is an omnivore. Its diet is based on worms, corn, wheat, sunflower seed, weed, leaves and grass. It needs to drink lots of water during the meal to prevent choking. Goose is social bird that likes to be part of a group. It lives in harmony with other geese and ducks in the captivity. Goose has an average lifespan of 20 to 25 years.

14. Pig - Pig is an even-toed ungulate that belongs to the family of pigs. There are more than 500 types of pigs and 2 billion pigs around the world today. They are kept on the farms mostly as a source of meat, skin, bristles and bones. Pig has thick, pinkish to brownish skin covered with sparse hair. Pig has large head, elongated snout, small eyes, triangular ears, large body and short stubby legs. Pig is an omnivore. It likes to eat different types of vegetables, fruits, bugs, fungi and roots. Pig is very intelligent and curious animal. Pig has an average lifespan of 6 to 10 years.

15. Turkey - Turkey is large type of poultry and a descendant of a wild turkey. Domestication of turkey took place 2000 years ago. There are 8 breeds and numerous varieties of domestic turkey that represent valuable source of meat and eggs for humans. Turkey is covered with 5000 to 6000 feathers. Fan-shaped tail of males consists of 18 long feathers. Turkey has good eyesight and sense of hearing. Turkey is an omnivore. Its diet in captivity is mostly based on different types of leaves, weeds, nuts, grass, fruit and vegetables. Turkey has an average lifespan of 10 years.
