1. Gose Khurd Dam, Bhandara - Gose Khurd Dam is an earthfill dam on the Wainganga River near Pauni in Bhandara district in state of Maharashtra in India. The dam consists of 33 Nos of spillway gates to regulate irrigation water into the river through out the year. The height of the dam above lowest foundation is 22.5 m while the length is 1,135 m. The dam volume content is 3.83 million m3 and gross water storage capacity is 1,146 million m3.

2. Bhatsa Dam, Thane - Bhatsa Dam, is an earthfill and gravity dam on Bhatsa river near Shahapur, Thane district in state of Maharashtra. The height of the dam above lowest foundation is 88.5 m while the length is 959 m. The volume content is 18,250 km3 and gross storage capacity is 976,150.00 km3.

3. Waghad Dam, Nashik - Waghad Dam, is an earthfill dam on Kalwan river near Dindori, Nashik district in the state of Maharashtra. The height of the dam above its lowest foundation is 45.6 m while the length is 952 m. The volume content is 1,783 km3 and gross storage capacity is 76,480.00 km3.

4. Bhatgar Dam, Pune - Bhatghar Dam, is a gravity dam on Yelwanti river near Bhor, Pune district in State of Maharashtra. On of oldest dam in Maharashtra built during British rule in India. The height of the dam above lowest foundation is 57.92 m while the length is 1,625 m. The volume content is 650 km3.

5. Temghar Dam, Pune - Temghar Dam, is an earthfill and gravity dam on Mutha river near Mulashi, Pune district in Maharashtra. The height of the dam above its lowest foundation is 42.5 m while the length is 1,075 m. The volume content is 1,188,000 m3 and gross storage capacity is 107,900,000.00 m3.

6. Khadakwasla Dam, Pune - Khadakwasla Dam is a dam on the Mutha River 21 km from the centre of the city of Pune in Maharashtra. The Khadakwasla Dam is 1.6 km long. The original dam, built in 1879 as a masonry gravity dam founded on hard rock was the first of its kind in the world. This dam was designed by Sir M. Visvesvaraya.

7. Isapur Dam, Yavatmal - Isapur Dam is an earthfill dam on Penganga river near Pusad in the state of Maharashtra in India. The height of the dam above lowest foundation is 57 m, while the length is 4,120.1 m. The gross storage capacity is 1.254000 km3 in volume.

8. Kolkewadi Dam, Ratnagiri - Kolkewadi Dam is a dam located in the Konkani region, Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra. The dam is part of the Koyna Hydroelectric Project. It contributes in the 3rd stage of power generation of the Koyna Hydroelectric Project. The electricity is generated in the underground power station located at the base of the dam.

9. Bhushi Dam, Pune - Bhushi Dam is a masonry dam on the Indrayani River in Lonavala, in Pune District of Maharashtra. The dam was built in the late 1860s for the Great Indian Peninsular Railway as a source of water for their steam engines. Water was carried from the reservoir to Lonavala, Khandala and the reversing station of the railways by cast-iron pipes. The Railway company later agreed to supply some water to the town of Lonavala as well, because the dam had been built using Municipal funding.

10. Chaskaman Dam, Pune - Chaskaman Dam is one of the important dams of Maharashtra and is built on the Bhima River at Rajgurunagar in Pune district. The main purpose of this dam was to improve irrigation and supply of electricity to the nearby villages.It is the second Hydel Greenfield power project in the country that is capable of captive power as well. The power will be utilized through the state power board. The project is completed during 2008-09.

11. Uttarmand Dam, Satara - Uttarmand Dam, is an earthfill dam on Uttarmand river near Patan, Satara district in the state of Maharashtra. The height of the dam above its lowest foundation is 46.45 m, while the length is 1,389 m. The volume content is 0 km3 and gross storage capacity is 24,925.00 km3.

12. Godavari Dam, Nashik - Godavari Dam, is an earthfill dam on Darna river near Igatpuri in state of Maharashtra. The height of the dam above lowest foundation is 34.75 m (114.0 ft) while the length is 1,028 m (3,373 ft). The volume content is 3,007 km3 and gross storage capacity is 46,730.00 km3.
