  1. Dr. Zakir Hussain - He was the third President of independent India. Serving his term from May 13, 1967 to May 3, 1969. Dr Zakir Hussain was one of the biggest exponents of education in India and it was under his leadership that the National Muslim University was founded, today, the National Muslim University exists under the name of Jamia Milia Islamia.
  1. Bal Gangadhar Tilak - Lokmanya Tilak born as Keshav Gangadhar Tilak, was an Indian nationalist, teacher, social reformer, lawyer and an independence activist. He was the first leader of the Indian Independence Movement. Tilak was one of the strongest advocates of "Swaraj" (self-rule).
  1. Mahatma Gandhi - Mahatma Gandhi is known as the Father of the Nation. Employing nonviolent civil disobedience, Gandhi led India to independence and inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world. His birthday, 2 October, is commemorated as Gandhi Jayanti, a national holiday and world-wide as the International Day of Nonviolence.
  1. Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru –Jawaharlal Nehru was the first Prime Minister of India and a central figure in Indian politics before and after independence. He emerged as the paramount leader of the Indian independence movement under the tutelage of Mahatma Gandhi and ruled India from its establishment as an independent nation in 1947 until his death in 1964.
  1. Dr. Radhakrishnan - Dr. S. Radhakrishnan was an Indian philosopher and statesman who was the first Vice President of India (1952–1962) and the second President of India from 1962 to 1967. Since 1962, his birthday is celebrated in India as Teachers' Day on 5 September.
  1. Lal Bahadur Shastri - Lal Bahadur Shastri was the second Prime Minister of independent India. He was a man of great courage and will. He successfully led country during the 1965 war with Pakistan.
  1. Sarojini Naidu - Sarojini Naidu was a distinguished poet & a renowned freedom fighter. She was famously known as Bharatiya Kokila (The Nightingale of India). Sarojini Naidu was the first Indian woman to become the President of the Indian National Congress and the first woman to become the governor of a state in India.
  1. Indira Gandhi - Indira Gandhi was a key 20th century stateswoman, a central figure of the Indian National Congress party, and to date the only female Prime Minister of India. She served as Prime Minister from 1966 to 1977 and then again from 1980 until her assassination in 1984.
  1. Swami Vivekananda – Swami Vivekanand was the chief disciple of the Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa. At birth, he was called Narendranath Datta. He was the founder of Ramakrishna Mission. He introduced Hindu philosophies of Vedanta and Yoga in Europe and America.
  1. Mahatma Jyotirao Phule - Jyotirao Govindrao Phule was an Indian activist, thinker, social reformer and writer from Maharashtra. He is most known for his efforts to educate women and the lower castes as well as the masses. After educating his wife, he opened the first school for girls in India in August 1848.
  1. Maharishi Karve - Dr. Dhondo Keshav Karve popularly known as Maharishi Karve, was a social reformer in India in the field of women's welfare. Karve worked for promoting widows' education. The Government of India awarded him its highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna, in 1958.
  1. Swami Ramakrishna Paramahamsa - Swami Ramakrishna Paramahamsa was an Indian mystic and yogi during the 19th-century. He provided spiritual enlightenment to the people of Bengal and played a key role in the social reform movement in Bengal in 19th century.
  1. Jamsetji Tata – Jamsetji N. Tata was an Indian pioneer industrialist, who founded the Tata Group, India's biggest conglomerate company. Tata is regarded as the legendary "Father of Indian Industry".
  1. Aurobindo Ghose - Aurobindo Ghose was a multifaceted person. He was a freedom fighter, poet, scholar, yogi and philosopher. He spent his life working towards the cause of India’s freedom, and for further evolution of life on earth.
  1. V. V. Giri - Varahagiri Venkata Giri commonly known as V. V. Giri, was the fourth President of the Republic of India from 24 August 1969 to 24 August 1974. Indian Government had honoured him with Bharat Ratna.
  1. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel - Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is popularly known as Iron Man of India. He played a leading role in the Indian freedom struggle and became the first Home Minister of India. He is credited with achieving political integration of India.
  1. Swami Dayanand Saraswati - Swami Dayanand Saraswati was a Hindu religious leader who founded the Arya Samaj, a Hindu reform movement of the Vedic tradition. He was the first to give the call for Swarajya as "India for Indians" – in 1876, later taken up by Lokmanya Tilak.
