Bobcat (Mammal) - There are
13 subspecies of bobcat that can be found across North America.
Bobcat inhabits forests, mountains, deserts, rocky and swampy areas.
Bobcat is covered with orange, grey or brown fur. Black stripes and
dots can be seen all over the body. Cheeks are covered with long
hair. Bottom part of tail is light. Top of the tail and ear tuffs
are black. Bobcats are carnivores, their diet also includes rodents,
birds, lizards, snakes and carrion.
Bull (Mammal) – Bull is
an adult male of the species Bos taurus (Cow). Bulls are much more
muscular than cows, with thicker bones, larger feet, a very muscular
neck and a large, bony head with protective ridges over the eyes.
Bull fight is major sport in few countries.
Panther (Mammal) - Panthers
are type of wild cats that inhabit America, Asia and Africa. They
can be found in rainforests, swamps, savannas, mountains and even
deserts. Panther is known as black jaguar in Latin America, as black
leopard in Asia and Africa and as black cougar in North America.
They are carnivores. Panthers can live up to 12 years in wild.
Wolf (Mammal) - Wolves are
excellent hunters and have been found to be living in more places in
the world than any other mammal except humans. The wolf is the
ancestor of all breeds of domestic dog. Lifespan of wolf is between
10 to 12 years.
Walrus (Mammal) - A walrus
is a marine mammal, the only species of the family Odobenidae. They
live in the cold northern seas around North America & Europe.
The most famous thing about walruses are their tusks. Even though
they are called tusks, they are actually teeth growing out of their
mouth. Walruses can change colour depending on how warm they are.
They are usually different kinds of brown, but as they get warmer,
their skin can turn pink.
Wolverine (Mammal) -
Wolverine is the largest member of the weasel family. Wolverines
prefer cold and snowy boreal forests, taiga and tundra regions.
Wolverines have brownish to black fur with light stripes on its
sides. Thick fur prevents animals from freezing. They have powerful
legs, large heads, round ears and short tail. Their feet have pads
with sharp claws.
Gaur (Mammal) - Gaur is the
largest member of the bovine family. Gaur inhabits evergreen and
deciduous forests. Body of gaur is covered with reddish to brown
coat. Gaurs have deep hollow area on the forehead and a ridge that
passes between the horns. Large ears are another prominent feature
on their head. Gaurs are herbivores. Their diet consists of grass,
leaves, shoots and fruit. Gaur can survive up to 30 years in
captivity.
Zebra (Mammal) - Zebra
has a unique pattern of black and white stripes. They are mainly
found in Africa. Zebra are part of the equidae family along with
horse and donkeys. They eat grass and leaves. Zebras can't
survive without water and they need to drink it at least once per
day. Their lifespan is 20 – 30
years.
