Deer (Mammal) - Deer are
the ruminant mammals forming the family Cervidae. They are
herbivorous animal. Deer have long legs typically suited to the
environments they live in. Male deer grow new antlers each year.
Deer have lifespan of 10 – 20 years.
Horse (Mammal) - Horses are used by humans for the
working activities such as farming, transportation, sports events
etc. Many products are derived from horses including meat, milk,
hide, hair, bones etc. Domestic horses have average lifespan of 25 to
30 years.
Goat (Mammal) - Goats are among the earliest animals
domesticated by humans. Goats have been used for their meat, hair,
milk and skins. Goats produce about 2% of the world's total annual
milk supply.
Hippopotamus (Mammal) - The
name hippopotamus means ‘river horse.’ Hippopotamuses spend a
large amount of time in water such as rivers, lakes and swamps.
Hippopotamuses have short legs, a huge mouth and a body shaped like
a barrel. Hippos typically live for around 45 years.
Marten (Mammal) - Martens
are slender, agile animals, adapted to living in taigas and are
found in coniferous and northern deciduous forests across the
Northern Hemisphere. They have bushy tails and large paws with
partially retractible claws. The fur varies from yellowish to dark
brown, depending on the species
Guanaco (Mammal) - Guanaco
is a member of a camel family. They can be found in South America.
Guanaco inhabits scrublands, savannas, grasslands, deserts, forests
and rocky areas. Guanaco has large head with pointed ears, very long
neck, long legs and short tail. Guanacos are herbivores. They
usually consume grass.
Llama (Mammal) - Llama
is most commonly found in the Andes mountain region of South
America. Llamas are used for meat, wool, skin and for transporting
heavy loads.
Jackal (Mammal) - Jackal is
a member of a canine family. It can be found in Africa, Middle East,
India and Europe. Body of jackal is covered with golden, rust or
silver-coloured black fur. Jackals have bushy tail. Jackals are
territorial animals. They mark and defend their territory fiercely.
Pig (Mammal) - Pigs are
omnivores and are highly social and intelligent animals. Pigs are
raised commercially for meat generally called pork, hams, gammon or
bacon, as well as for leather. Their bristly hairs are also used for
brushes.
Sea Lion (Mammal) - Sea
lions are sea mammals characterised by external ear flaps, long
foreflippers, the ability to walk on all fours and short, thick
hair. Sea Lions are highly intelligent animals. They are often a
popular attraction at zoos and parks, where the sea lions are
generally being trained to do tricks with hoops and balls.
Sheep (Mammal) - Sheep are
medium-sized herbivorous animal. Sheep are mainly farmed for their
meat and wool but sheep are also occasionally farmed for their milk.
Sheep's wool is the most widely used animal fibre.
Elk (Mammal) - Elk is large
mammal that belongs to the family of deer. There are over 10
subspecies of elk that can be found in North America and Asia. Elk
has long head with large ears and massive body with thin legs and
short tail. Elk is herbivore. Elk can survive 8 to 12 years in the
wild.
